Tony’s favourite past time when he is away from the gym is fishing. He was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon and moved to Alberta after high school to play college basketball for the University of Alberta, Augustana Faculty in Camrose. He began personal training at World Health Club in 2015 and enjoys conditioning athletes and clients with weight loss goals. He has competed in both powerlifting and olympic weightlifting.

Cole was born and raised in Drayton Valley, Alberta. He was a competitive boxer and swimmer throughout his teens. Once during a swim, he dove into the water and lost his swim trunks. However, Cole continued the race completely buck naked and destroyed the rest of the competition!

I first started working with a personal trainer when I was 12 years old to help improve my athletic strength and conditioning for hockey. What I didn’t expect was the overall body of growth (beyond hockey) by having a trainer and mentor in my corner. I noticed my overall confidence, happiness, and energy levels improved by having external accountability and motivation. I was fortunate enough to play 3 years of Junior A hockey across Canada. During this time, I learned a lot about preparation, training, nutrition and recovery, similar to what people must do now to achieve their fitness goals. My mission is to inspire people to improve their overall quality of life by first teaching people the joys of health and fitness!

Derick was born in Alberta and raised in Saskatchewan. He began his Edmonton personal training career 10 years ago training at Club fit (Edmonton World Health Club). His fondest memories growing up included having his dad coach his basketball teams all throughout high school. With the help of his oldest brother and closest friends, he would medal in provincials each year.
He cherishes family moments the most because he is the husband of a beautiful wife and the father of 2 twin boys.

Max’s favourite activity outside of the gym is either playing a round of golf or tossing a Frisbee on a nice sunny day. Max was born in the small town of The Pas, Manitoba. He has since lived in 8 different cities across Canada ranging from Hay River, Northwest Territories and Ottawa, Ontario. He played hockey for 14 years and has since been consumed by the sport of Olympic weight lifting for the last 4 years! Max is our Olympic weight lifting coach and has a growing number of athletes who compete in this sport.

Originally coming from a dance background, Trevor transitioned into gymnastics and then to weight lifting in order to further develop his understanding and capabilities of the human body. Trevor’s personal philosophy and goals regarding physical fitness aims at being unrestricted across all exercise modalities. This mentally stems from Trevor’s early desire to be able to enjoy various activities, ranging from ballet, Olympic weightlifting and much more. Trevor aims to empower a similar understanding with his clients in order for them to enjoy their lives pain-free and with minimal hindrances.

Kevin was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. When Kevin is away from the gym, he enjoys playing sports such as hockey, badminton and golf. Throughout the year, you will find Kevin on a badminton court practicing the skills he learned from training professionally in China for two months back 2010. Outside of being active, you will find Kevin spending time with his family and friends at local shops and restaurants around town. Kevin’s continual pursuit for strength, conditioning and improved mobility is what drives his career in Edmonton personal training.

Karen “Sri Sri” Lakshmi
Karen’s yoga journey began in 2006 when she was in search for spiritual healing and emotional support. Over the years, she developed a deeper passion and understanding for the practice. Since then, yoga has guided her to captivate her inner-courage, as well as develop self-acceptance with a higher level of clarity in her life experiences. The pureness and truth to yoga is what drew her in which helped captured her heart and mind. Throughout the years, she has been able to witness the coping and healing of depression, anxiety and stress through yoga.
To Karen, yoga is unity. It is unlocking human potential through the exploration of our divine nature, creating space and awareness within ourselves to unite the mind, body and soul. Yoga is conscious breath embodied with conscious movement. It is more about how you feel and less about how you look. She found within herself the longing to spread the light of Yoga to others as she experienced it, and to nurture the community by providing mindful guidance towards our true nature which is – playful, joyful, blissful, fearless.
She completed her 200 hour Akhanda Yoga training in Rishikesh, India under the guidance of Yogarishi Vishvaketu at Anand Prakash Ashram.

Clifton Pho has always been working out since he was a young kid. Lately, he’s been heavily involved in the powerlifting scene in Alberta because he found a community that he really resonates with. Powerlifting quickly became a passion for Clifton and he has since competed internationally representing team Canada at the last World Championship. His experiences sparked the growth of “Lifton”, which was created to give back to the community that he has grown to love. In the future, he plans to pursue a career in manual therapy.

Tyler has been in the fitness coaching industry for 4 years. And in these years, he has focused his training through scientific based programming, functional fitness and prehab. His training is centralized around weightlifting and powerlifting movements and focuses on long term measurable goals. His process results in strength development, improving body composition, and pain free movement.
Tyler’s mission is to be the best personal fitness coaching experience worldwide. To accomplish this, he has committed himself to have a transparent, personable and scientific based approach to all his programming, as well as striving to build a supportive fitness community for all. He DOES NOT let age, finances or current fitness level get in the way of his clients becoming the best version of themselves.

Alethea has been surrounded by exercise and activity her whole life. Especially team sports and extreme sports. She played soccer for most of her childhood and teen years and now, her favourite activities outside the gym are downhill and cross-country biking! She has recently included Olympic weightlifting in her training program and loves the challenge and steep learning curve that comes with it! Alethea enjoys spreading the love of exercise and training with her clients to help them reach their goals! She wants to help shape their new lifestyle and empower them to love fitness and health!

Susanne was born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan, playing competitive sports from an early age. As a teacher and lifelong learner, physical and mental health has always been a priority. While going through a health struggle of chronic liver illness followed by melanoma, Susanne discovered the benefits of spiritual health through yoga, meditation, mindfulness and alternative energy healing. It’s Susanne’s firm belief and conviction that when you take the time to slow down and get a true sense of your soul you can lead a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life. In her downtime, you can find Susanne enjoying outdoor activities with her husband, daughter and two giant dogs; practising yoga, olympic weightlifting, running the trails in St. Albert, writing her blog and hosting moon circles during the full moon.

Role Models: My parents. I have been fortunate enough to have parents who have demonstrated unconditional love and support to their children, commitment and love for one another, and how to move through life with integrity. They have shown me through their actions how to love and be a good parent, how to be committed in marriage through the sickness, the happiness, the struggles and the mundane, and how to always move through life by staying true to yourself.
Growing up, I was always the smallest player on every sports team. In high school, I decided I needed to make a change and started to pump some iron! Not much has changed since then since I’m still the smallest person on the F.R.E.E. Fitness team… However, since I started working out, I found my self more curious about the fitness industry and how I could help more people pay attention to their health and wellness. After becoming certified through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA), I enrolled in the Personal Fitness Training Program at N.A.I.T. I found a new passion in helping people reach their fitness goals, whether it be weight loss or any form of corrective exercise!
