Tony’s favourite past time when he is away from the gym is fishing. He was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon and moved to Alberta after high school to play college basketball for the University of Alberta, Augustana Faculty in Camrose. He began personal training at World Health Club in 2015 and enjoys training general population and basketball players. He has competed in both powerlifting and olympic weightlifting in recent years and is still involved in many team sports.

Tyler has been in the fitness coaching industry for 4 years. And in these years, he has focused his training through scientific based programming, functional fitness and prehab. His training is centralized around weightlifting and powerlifting movements and focuses on long term measurable goals. His process results in strength development, improving body composition, and pain free movement.
Tyler’s mission is to be the best personal fitness coaching experience worldwide. To accomplish this, he has committed himself to have a transparent, personable and scientific based approach to all his programming, as well as striving to build a supportive fitness community for all. Max’s favourite activity outside of the gym is either playing a round of golf or tossing a Frisbee on a nice sunny day. Max was born in the small town of The Pas, Manitoba. He has since lived in 8 different cities across Canada ranging from Hay River, Northwest Territories and Ottawa, Ontario. He played hockey for 14 years and has since been consumed by the sport of Olympic weight lifting for the last 4 years! Max is our Olympic weight lifting coach and has a growing number of athletes who compete in this sport.

My passion for fitness didn’t start until later in my life. I had been athletic throughout my youth but after graduating from high school I found myself less motivated to be active. A few years later I found myself out of shape, unhealthy and unhappy. This led to me enrolling the NAIT Personal Fitness Trainer program in 2016. The program was life changing for me and since then I’ve been dedicated to improving the health and fitness of myself and others.
I want to show people that a healthy lifestyle is attainable for everyone. Being fit and healthy allows us to enjoy our lives to the fullest. Using scientifically based principles for training, I create a safe, fun and supportive environment for my clients where they can reach their goals.

Growing up, I was always the smallest player on every sports team. In high school, I decided I needed to make a change and started to pump some iron! Not much has changed since then since I’m still the smallest person on the F.R.E.E. Fitness team… However, since I started working out, I found my self more curious about the fitness industry and how I could help more people pay attention to their health and wellness. After becoming certified through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA), I enrolled in the Personal Fitness Training Program at N.A.I.T. I found a new passion in helping people reach their fitness goals, whether it be weight loss or any form of corrective exercise!

Karen’s yoga journey began in 2006 when she was in search for spiritual healing and emotional support. Over the years, she developed a deeper passion and understanding for the practice. Since then, yoga has guided her to captivate her inner-courage, as well as develop self-acceptance with a higher level of clarity in her life experiences. The pureness and truth to yoga is what drew her in which helped captured her heart and mind. Throughout the years, she has been able to witness the coping and healing of depression, anxiety and stress through yoga.
To Karen, yoga is unity. It is unlocking human potential through the exploration of our divine nature, creating space and awareness within ourselves to unite the mind, body and soul. Yoga is conscious breath embodied with conscious movement. It is more about how you feel and less about how you look. She found within herself the longing to spread the light of Yoga to others as she experienced it, and to nurture the community by providing mindful guidance towards our true nature which is – playful, joyful, blissful, fearless.
She completed her 200 hour Akhanda Yoga training in Rishikesh, India under the guidance of Yogarishi Vishvaketu at Anand Prakash Ashram.

Alethea has been surrounded by exercise and activity her whole life. Especially team sports and extreme sports. She played soccer for most of her childhood and teen years and now, her favourite activities outside the gym are downhill and cross-country biking! She has recently included Olympic weightlifting in her training program and loves the challenge and steep learning curve that comes with it! Susanne was born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan, playing competitive sports from an early age. As a teacher and lifelong learner, physical and mental health has always been a priority. While going through a health struggle of chronic liver illness followed by melanoma, Susanne discovered the benefits of spiritual health through yoga, meditation, mindfulness and alternative energy healing. It’s Susanne’s firm belief and conviction that when you take the time to slow down and get a true sense of your soul you can lead a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life. In her downtime, you can find Susanne enjoying outdoor activities with her husband, daughter and two giant dogs; practising yoga, olympic weightlifting, running the trails in St. Albert, writing her blog and hosting moon circles during the full moon.

I have been fortunate enough to have parents who have demonstrated unconditional love and support to their children, commitment and love for one another, and how to move through life with integrity. They have shown me through their actions how to love and be a good parent, how to be committed in marriage through the sickness, the happiness, the struggles and the mundane, and how to always move through life by staying true to yourself.
Boxing Instructor of Azn Assasin Boxing
I was born in Brunei and moved to Canada at the age of 2. At the age of 34, I suffered a stroke as a result of overtraining for a boxing match. Prior to my stroke, I worked as a marketing manager for various companies (United cycle being the most notable). I was also a boxing instructor and marketing manager for Panther’s Gym. I loved being part of the boxing scene so much that I quit my job as marketing manager at United Cycle and transferred to Panther’s Gym full time. One thing led to another and I soon found that I was involved with all aspects of boxing. I loved coaching boxing, especially the technical aspects of sparring. During this time, I upped my own training. I would run 5 miles to the gym every day before sparring with my clients. I’d teach boxing drills for 3 hours and self train for another 2 hours a day. This was my love and passion before enduring my stroke. Since my stroke, I was forced to put my career as a boxer and coach to the side and opened a family restaurant called Golomein Noodle House with my brother. However, I’m back and ready to take on more as a boxing coach!

I grew up in small-town in Saskatchewan playing a variety of sports such as volleyball, soccer and track and field. But after graduation (like most people) my health and fitness barrelled downhill. I got to a place where I finally had enough of how poor I felt and wanted to make health a priority in my life. It was 4 years ago that I dove back into health and fitness. My whole life transformed; my energy, confidence and outlook on life improved. This gave me the motivation to explore various avenues of fitness. I recently competed in my first powerlifting competition in November 2019. I’m excited to share my passion for fitness and help people make health a priority in their lives.

Personal Trainer of GriFit Personal Training
I grew up on a Ranch just outside of Edmonton, so if you count moving hay and roping as fitness, I have been into fitness my whole life! As a kid I was able to try out many sports: taekwondo, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, and track and field. To be honest, I was always the worst player on the team and almost failed gym class in school. I was giving myself plenty of room to grow!
In High School, I started competitive dance and focused my training in contemporary and acrobatics. That was the moment when fitness and training became part of my life. I competed in dance competitions across Canada and travelled to dance workshops in Paris and Barcelona to further my skills.
After High School, I joined the Military as an Infantry soldier. I spent 4 years in the Army and had a chance to train in a variety of roles such as Infantry Mortarman. I had the opportunity to live in Hiroshima, Japan which is where I began training more seriously in a gym setting.
Now that I partnered with F.R.E.E. Fitness, my focus is to provide you with the knowledge, guidance and support to achieve and surpass your fitness goals.

Registered Kinesiologist & Personal Trainer
Jessica was born and raised in Edmonton and began her training career at Propel learning and growing while in school for her Bachelors of Kinesiology at the University of Alberta. She has always been passionate about movement at an early age participating in many activities such as Dance, Basketball, and Ringette.
Injury prevention is what she is most passionate about and fits right in the middle of the Rehabilitation and Performance continuum.
With a background in corrective exercise prescription in a clinical setting, and strength and conditioning in a gym setting, she is well rounded and looks forward to fixing, preventing, and increasing performance in specific areas whether it be a movement or physiological deficit.
